Different from other museums which are generally founded by the government, Coi Nguon Phu Quoc Museum was established by a young man named Huynh Phuoc Hue. With a passion for preservation, he nurtured his goal of opening a place where visitors can learn about his hometown’s culture and history. In order to realize his dream, Hue got a job as a tour guide on Phu Quoc island to gain more information about the island before publishing a tourist book for travelers, which allowed him to earn more money. Then, he used that money to collect historical objects in Phu Quoc. After more than ten years of collecting, Hue began the construction of Coi Nguon Museum in 2006 and finished it in 2009.
