The pagoda was built in 1934 thanks to the contribution of a large number of people and Buddhists. The pagoda had a different name initially. Since 1970, the pagoda has gone under the name of Phap Lam.
Phap Lam Pagoda is not the oldest pagoda in Da Nang. However, 90 years of its history will be enough to give tourists ample insight and knowledge into Vietnamese religious culture.

The lower floor of Phap Lam Pagoda is the lecture hall, with a capacity of 1,000 people. The upper floor is the main hall of the pagoda, which is the best stop for admiring the architecture.
Every interior detail is elegantly arranged. Every carving is delicate and elaborate. The highlight here is two diagrams with a Pali mantra placed in the middle of the hall.

Admiring the giant statues is always one of the most favorable experiences at Phap Lam Pagoda. The pagoda has many unique bronze statues, such as the statue of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara. They are all built excellently and majestically.
Among these giant and sophisticated statues, the 11-meter-tall sitting statue of Buddha is the most famous. The massive statue, with a gentle and compassionate face, has attracted a lot of tourists and Buddhists coming to visit and worship.
