1. Features of Con Dao wind season

The Con Dao wind season, from November to February, is known for its strong winds, big waves, and cooler, less sunny weather. This season is historically significant, as many political prisoners bravely escaped the island during these harsh conditions in Vietnam’s fight for independence.

Traveling to Con Dao Island can be challenging during this time, with limited boat services and possible flight disruptions due to rough seas. However, the island’s dramatic landscapes and quieter atmosphere offer a unique experience for those who visit.

Known as a “hell on Earth,” it used brutal methods like tiger cages to suppress prisoners.
