Han River Bridge, also known as Han River Swing Bridge, is a landmark situated in the heart of Da Nang. Construction of the Han River Bridge began in 1998 and was completed in 2000. It is the first swing bridge entirely designed and built by Vietnamese engineers and workers, and it remains the only swing bridge in Vietnam to this day.

Han River Bridge stretches 487.7 meters in length and spans 12.9 meters in width, comprising 11 spans, including two cable-stayed spans. The bridge segment on the pier in the middle of the river can pivot 90 degrees to align with the river’s flow, allowing large ships to pass through.

Designed and constructed by Vietnamese engineers and workers, the Han River Bridge features a pre-stressed reinforced concrete structure and two cable-stayed spans totaling 122.7 meters.

  • From Monday to Friday, the Han River Bridge rotates at 1 a.m. and closes before 2 a.m. If there are numerous large ships, the bridge remains open until 4 a.m.
  • On Saturday and Sunday, the bridge rotates from 11 p.m. until midnight.

  • From Da Nang Central Bus Station: Head towards Ton Duc Thang, then turn onto Dien Bien Phu. Continue to the intersection with Le Duan, go straight to the Da Nang Dragon Bridge, and you will arrive at the Han River Bridge.
  • From Da Nang Airport: Take Nguyen Van Linh Street, turn onto Tran Phu Street, then continue from Tran Phu to Le Duan. Go straight a bit further to reach the Han River Bridge.
