2. About the history of Le Thi Rieng Park

Le Thi Rieng Park was once a large cemetery in Saigon. Before 1975, it was known as Do Thanh Cemetery. This cemetery served as a resting place for many working-class individuals. During times of war, numerous unmarked graves appeared, most belonging to fallen soldiers whose bodies were never claimed. 

As part of Saigon’s urban development plan, Do Thanh Cemetery was cleared in 1983 to make way for Le Thi Rieng Cultural Park. Since then, the park has become a familiar part of the city’s local life.
