The Ocean International Lantern Festival brings together the world’s top lantern artisans to celebrate the essence of lantern artistry and contemporary creativity. Alongside dazzling works of art, the festival features vibrant music performances, fairs, and colorful cultural activities.

2.1. International Lantern Contest

The Ocean International Lantern Festival gathers exceptional artisans from traditional craft villages across Vietnam and the world’s most renowned lantern cultural regions. Participants not only preserve and showcase the beauty of traditional lantern-making artistry but also introduce unique innovations, blending cultural heritage with modern technology.

After an intense preliminary round, the organizers have selected the 15 most outstanding creations from 15 teams representing five countries: Vietnam, Thailand, China, South Korea, and Japan, to compete in the grand finale.

2.2. International Lantern Exhibition

In addition to the design competition, the festival is further elevated by an international lantern exhibition crafted by the talented artisans from the Shanghai Fosun Family (China).

Designed and displayed under the theme “Shanhai Jing & Linh Nam Chich Quai (Selection of Strange Tales in Lingnan)—Exhibition of Mystical Creatures of the East,” the exhibition offers a colorful cultural journey. Visitors will explore enchanting legends that ignite the imagination of Eastern culture and captivating historical stories.
