3.1. When is the best time to visit?

The best time to visit Tien Trang Beach is during summer, from late April to late August. The weather in the northern and north-central regions of Vietnam can be quite intense, with heat waves sometimes pushing temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. 3.2. How to get there from the city center?

From Thanh Hoa City’s center, you can easily reach Tien Trang Beach by car, motorbike, or taxi. The beach is about 25 kilometers south of the city, and the drive takes around 35 minutes. Here are two convenient routes to get to Tien Trang Beach:

  • Via National Road 1A: Head east on Le Loi Boulevard toward Nguyen Hieu Street, then follow National Road 1A/Hung Vuong Boulevard, passing landmarks such as Media Mart. Continue straight onto National Road 1A/Quang Trung Street and then onto National Road 1A/To Huu Street. Turn left and follow the path for about 1.7 kilometers, then turn right onto Tien Trang. After roughly 1.4 kilometers, turn left and continue for over 200 meters. Finish by turning right to reach Du Lich Tien Trang.
  • Via Vo Nguyen Giap Street: Head east on Le Loi Boulevard/National Road 1A toward Nguyen Hieu Street. Turn right, then left toward National Road 1A/DL Hung Vuong, and continue on National Road 1A/DL Hung Vuong. Turn left onto Vo Nguyen Giap Street and go on for 6.7 kilometers. Follow the signs for Thanh Hoa, and turn left at MG Thanh Hoa onto Sam Son/National Road 47. Drive from Thanh Hoa Coastal Road to Quang Loi Street and continue onto Thanh Hoa Coastal Road. Finish by turning right to reach Du Lich Tien Trang.

3.3. Where to stay near the beach?

There are many affordable guesthouses around the beach, with rooms starting at just 200,000 – 300,000 VND per night. These budget-friendly options offer essential amenities like air conditioning and hot water, making them a convenient choice for a simple stay. However, you will not find many large hotels. If you are looking for a more upscale stay, you will need to head into Thanh Hoa City. 

3.4. What is the recommended itinerary?

This itinerary allows you to experience the beauty of Tien Trang Beach while making the most of your two-day trip.

Day 1:

  • Morning: Depart from Hanoi around 6 AM for the 3-hour drive to Tien Trang Beach.
  • Noon: Arrive at Tien Trang Beach and check into your accommodation. Enjoy a relaxing lunch at a local restaurant or beachside café. 
  • Afternoon: Spend your afternoon lounging on the beach. Swim in the gentle waves or take a stroll along the shore. If you are up for it, consider snorkeling.
