Although the trek is relatively short, there are few water sources or resting spots, so be sure to carry sufficient supplies. The final section features steep, rocky paths, requiring careful navigation. At the summit, 1,700 meters high, you will be rewarded with stunning views of the fields below and a gratifying sense of achievement.

2.2. Kho Muong Village

For many international travelers, Kho Muong is the ideal starting point for trekking in Pu Luong Nature Reserve. About 6 kilometers from the market lie Hieu Village and Hieu Waterfall. This picturesque area, home to the Thai people, is dotted with traditional houses along the banks of a stream flowing from Pu Luong’s peak. The waterfall flows gently over an 800-meter stretch of smooth rocks, with water depths of just over 1 meter and a soft sandy bottom. Visitors can hike the scenic route and then cool off by diving in, swimming, or relaxing in the clear, refreshing water.
