According to researchers, Banh It Cham Temple dates back to the late 11th century – early 12th century. Similar to other Cham towers in the region, Banh It Towers are built from tightly fitted red bricks, complemented by stone elements, reliefs, and statues. The towers are decorated with intricate patterns of Hindu mythological figures and scenes, which were crafted with meticulous details. Kalan, the Main Tower, aligns with Gopura and serves as the most significant structure within the complex, reaching a height of 29.6 meters. The tower’s square base measures 12 meters per side, with 3-meter-thick walls. Its architecture includes square pillars, bold ridges along the walls, large spearhead-shaped arches, and false doors. At the center of the archway is a Kala face relief, and the cornice is adorned with a frieze of the monkey god Hanuman in a dancing pose.
2.4. The Kosagrha tower
Kosagrha the Fire Tower is another standout structure in the complex. Here, you can admire unique architectural shapes, including forms that resemble human figures, animals, and birds. These distinctive sculptures are crafted in a stylized lattice design, accompanied by smooth, flowing motifs.
