It houses 2,847 species of vascular plants, including rare and endangered species listed in the Red Data Book, such as the Yunnan cypress, red pine, and the Fansipan spruce. The park also features a plethora of orchids, around 20 azalea species, and 800 medicinal plants of great value.

The park’s wildlife is equally impressive, with 555 species of terrestrial vertebrates, including 96 mammals, 346 bird species, 63 reptiles, and 50 amphibians. Among them, 60 species are listed in Vietnam’s Red Book, 33 in the IUCN Red List (2004), and 55 are bird species endemic to the Hoang Lien Son Vietnam range. Notably, a rare thorny frog was recently discovered here. The park is also home to 304 butterfly species, adding ecological and aesthetic value for conservation and tourism alike.

Trekkers stay overnight at rest points located at 2,200 meters and 2,800 meters above sea level with spectacular views, making it a rewarding adventure.
  • Cat Cat Village to Fansipan Summit (Difficult): Known for its steep and demanding terrain, this 12-kilometer route takes three days and two nights to complete. Hikers rest at the park’s rest points at 2,600 meters and 2,800 meters.

Golden Stream – Love Waterfall Tourist Site

Located about 14 kilometers from Sapa town, Love Waterfall cascades 34 meters along the Golden Stream, originating from Fansipan Mountain.
