1. Where is Hang Tien Cave (Fairy Cave)?
Hang Tien Cave is part of the greater Tu Lan Cave system in Quang Binh (now part of Quang Tri), one of the most spectacular cave networks in Southeast Asia. This cave lies around 70 kilometers west of Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park.

Measuring approximately 3 kilometers in length and 100 meters in depth, Hang Tien Cave is the final cave in the Tu Lan cave system before its water flows into the Rao Nan River. During the dry season (April – August), it becomes a dry cave, allowing extensive exploration. In the rainy season, water from surrounding rivers floods the cave, forming a massive underground stream.
Hang Tien Cave is composed of two sections – Hang Tien 1 and Hang Tien 2, each featuring magnificent formations that have developed over millions of years.
2. When is the best time to visit Hang Tien Cave?
The ideal time to visit Hang Tien Cave is from April to August, when you can expect clear skies and warm, dry days. This season is perfect for trekking, photography, and cave exploration. Due to seasonal floods from September to October, tours to Hang Tien Cave are paused during those months.
