2. The development of Phu Cat Airport near Quy Nhon

Phu Cat Airport, originally known as Go Quanh Airport, was built in 1966 as a military base. From 1975 to 1984, after the reunification of Vietnam, the airport was managed by the Ministry of National Defense as a training center for fighter pilots. In September 1984, it transitioned into a dual-purpose airport, serving both military and civil needs. 

Significant upgrades were made to Phu Cat Airport in 2015 to accommodate more domestic flights, including renovations to the runway, terminal, and apron. In the future, the airport aims to become an international airport by adding an international terminal, expanding the runway and apron, and upgrading its infrastructure to meet international standards.
