3.5. Driving in Vietnam

  • Driving regulations in Vietnam: Vietnamese driving licenses are required for all individuals operating motor vehicles, including riders of motorcycles with an engine capacity exceeding 50 CC. Non-Vietnamese citizens can only drive in Vietnam if they possess a temporary Vietnamese driver’s license.

To convert an Australian driving license into a temporary Vietnamese driver’s license, the applicant must have a valid Vietnamese residence permit with a minimum validity period of three months.
