Tiger Cave (Hang Ho) lies deep within Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park in Quang Binh Province, Vietnam. Officially named Dai A Cave, this cave is part of the grand Vom cave system. It stretches 1,616 meters in length and reaches a depth of 46 meters from its entrance, which spans over 50 meters wide.
The Tiger Cave history dates back to its discovery in 1997 by the British Caving Research Association (BCRA). Surrounded by lush forests teeming with biodiversity, it offers a pristine landscape perfect for adventure seekers and nature lovers.

2. A journey through Tiger Cave in Phong Nha
Stepping into Tiger Cave is like entering a realm where time and nature have truly sculpted something extraordinary. Once inside, you are immediately struck by colossal rock formations that lead the way to a deep, mysterious underground lake. The journey itself winds through three entrances, each framed by towering trees and dramatic cliffs.
The highlight of this adventure is the Kong Collapse – one of the world’s largest sinkholes. To get there, you have to swim through 500 meters of an underground river, where the water temperature hovers around 15°C. Reaching this site is worth every chilly stroke! Named for its uncanny resemblance to King Kong’s habitat, the Kong Collapse reveals an open ceiling stretching high above, encircled by a cathedral of rock walls and dense vegetation.
The exploration does not stop there. You will continue with a 150-meter climb up a steep slope to reach the cave’s rear entrance. Here, you will discover a small stream gently trickling over moss-covered boulders, along with an ecosystem of native plants forming a natural amphitheater. From this entrance, you will need to swim through another section of the underground river and navigate a fascinating maze of rocks leading back to the cave’s front.
If you are up for more, just a 15-minute trek from there will bring you to the entrance of Over Cave, another magnificent cave within the incredible Vom cave system.
