For his contributions, he was given approximately 80 hectares of land to establish the monastery – a sanctuary opposing French occupation. In July 1939, it hosted the inaugural meeting of A Communist Party cell with nine members. Under the leadership of the Party, a robust revolutionary movement flourished in the region.
