One day, a group of beautiful fairy women arrived to play and swim at the Tiên Sa Beach nearby. De Thich was distracted and made a mistake, leading to his defeat. The victorious fairy rode his cloud back to heaven, while De Thich stayed on earth, searching for a way to win the game.
To honor the legend, the locals built a chessboard and a statue of De Thich on the mountain, giving it the name Ban Co Peak.
