Currently, Hanoi Museum is home to more than 70,000 documents and artifacts representing thousands of years of history. Many of them are of very high value, such as the collection of bronze drums, the collection of jade and ivory artifacts, and the collection of artifacts during the 20th-century resistance war.

The exhibits in Hanoi Museum have 7 themes and 33 sub-themes that showcase the city through its important phases in history.

Hanoi Museum is situated on Pham Hung Street, Me Tri Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi. It is easy to be reached either by public or private means of transportation. If you go by motorbike, get to Pham Hung – Khuat Duy Tien Intersection. Hanoi Museum is just some hundreds of meters away from this point. If you go by bus, you can take bus routes no. 35A, 39, 50, and 60A. They all have stops near the museum.

3. The unique architectural features of Hanoi Museum

Among the long list of Hanoi museums, this place impresses visitors with its unique architectural style. Entering the museum’s grounds, you will be greeted by displays detailing Hanoi’s history as well as replicas of traditional Vietnamese villages. 

The museum is a square building with a circular atrium in the middle. The building resembles an inverted pyramid, with terraces that extend farther outward. As a result, the higher floors cast shadows on the one below, and the inside exhibits are shielded from sunlight as well.

With this design, visitors in the museum will feel like they are hovering above the landscape when they look out. A spiral ramp allows visitors to access the higher floors. It also offers a view into the hall and exhibits. 

The first to third floors are used for exhibition, while the fourth floor has offices, a library, meeting rooms, and research areas.
