2.1. Collections of materials and artifacts

Women in Family

The second floor of the Vietnamese Women’s Museum mostly contains collections that demonstrate the lives of Vietnamese women of different ethnicities from childhood to marriage. Photos and project images on this floor mostly revolve around traditional wedding customs like engagement gifts or wedding attire. The pictures of conventional Vietnamese women engaging with household appliances are also displayed in this exhibition.

Women in History

Located on the third floor of the Vietnamese Women’s Museum, the Women in History collection contains images of bravery shown by Vietnamese women throughout history. The exhibit signifies the importance of Vietnamese women’s contribution during historical resistance wars against foreign forces, as well as illustrates various activities and perspectives of women’s daily life during wartime.

This exhibition also includes multiple documentaries with subtitles, videos, and propagation posters about Vietnamese heroines and Vietnamese women during the wars. There is also a small section of the exhibit that demonstrates representations of modern Viet women.

Viet Women’s Fashion Through The Time

The fourth floor of the Vietnamese Women’s Museum exhibits various types of traditional clothing from all 54 Vietnamese ethnicities. Attires vary drastically between not only ethnicities, but also marital status and age. The ancient makeup, silverware crafting, and sewing techniques will blow you away. This section also features modern dresses made by Vietnamese fashion designers.

Ba Dinh Square is a famous historical landmark of Vietnam. It is the location where President Ho Chi Minh read the Proclamation of Independence on September 2, 1945, which led to the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. When President Ho Chi Minh passed away, his mausoleum was built here to pay tribute to his significant achievements and contributions.

Vinpearl Aquarium is the first and largest underground aquarium in Vietnam, situated in Vincom Mega Mall Times City, just 15 minutes by motorcycle from the Vietnamese Women’s Museum.
