1. Things to know about the distance from Da Nang to Hoi An
From Da Nang to Hoi An, the distance is only around 30 kilometres long, which takes some 40 minutes to travel by car. Hence, visitors can enjoy both destinations in a single trip. There are many routes to travel from Da Nang to Hoi An, which are:
- Route 1: From Truong Sa Street, go to Vo Nguyen Giap Street or Lac Long Quan Street, then turn right into Hoi An Ancient Town.

2.1. Bus from Da Nang to Hoi An
There is bus route number 1 which goes from Da Nang to Hoi An. A trip on the bus costs VND 30,000 (about US$1.2), which is quite cheap in comparison to other means of transport. There are many stops along the route:
- From Da Nang to Hoi An, the bus stops at: Da Nang Central Bus Station – Ton Duc Thang – Dien Bien Phu – Le Duan – Tran Phu – Trung Nu Vuong – Duy Tan – Nguyen Van Troi Bridge – Ngu Hanh Son – Le Van Hien – Hoi An Bus Station
- From Hoi An to Da Nang, the bus stops at: Hoi An Bus Station – Le Van Hien – Ngu Hanh Son – Nguyen Van Troi Bridge – Bach Dang – Phan Dinh Phung – Yen Bai – Le Duan – Dien Bien Phu – Ton Duc Thang – Da Nang Central Bus Station.
Taking the bus, you can admire the scenery along the road. However, it may take some time for the bus to travel from Da Nang to Hoi An (some 70 – 80 minutes).

2.2. Taxi from Da Nang to Hoi An
Taxi is a convenient means of transport from Da Nang to Hoi An, which is quicker and more comfortable than any other means. Travellers can easily find taxis in Da Nang or Hoi An or book one via the Grab mobile application.
However, the price for a taxi trip from Da Nang to Hoi An is rather high, from VND 350,000 to 430,000/ one-way trip or VND 750,000 – 950,000/ round trip. Thus, you should consider your budget before calling a taxi to go from Da Nang to Hoi An.

2.3. Tourist car from Da Nang to Hoi An
If you want to save some money and time, you can hire a tourist car to travel from Da Nang to Hoi An. The price of a tourist car is often 20-40% lower than that of a taxi. A 5-seat-car may cost VND 200,000/ one-way trip, a 7-seat-car may cost VND 300.000, and a 16-seat car may cost VND 400,000.
Another way to travel from Da Nang to Hoi An by car is to share the car with other passengers. You can book only one or several seats, which costs between VND 120,000 – 140,000/ seat. These cars also have good services, with 4, 7, and 16 seats potentially.
For a trip at night or early in the morning, you should book the seats before 9 pm the day before. After booking, the person in charge will send you confirmation via mobile or email.

2.4. Motorbike from Da Nang to Hoi An
The best way to get from Da Nang to Hoi An is renting a bike. The price is reasonable, which is between VND 120,000 and 200,000/ bike/ day.
You will need some 50 minutes to travel by motorbike from Da Nang to Hoi An. With motorbikes, it is advisable that you follow this route: Da Nang – Tran Thi Ly Bridge – Vo Nguyen Giap Street – Truong Sa Street or Lac Long Quan Street – Hoi An Ancient Town.
Taking a motorbike trip from Da Nang to Hoi An can help you freely make a stop anywhere along the way and explore around. Remember to check the bike carefully before making the rent. You should also prepare some tools to fix the bike in case of technical issues.

3. Should you combine Da Nang tours with Hoi An tours?
Visitors should combine Da Nang tours with Hoi An tours, as it will be very convenience, because:
- The distance between the two destinations is short and road conditions are good.
- There are various means of transport to choose from.
- Both destinations have many tourist sites. Da Nang has many beautiful natural landscapes and impressive architectural works, while Hoi An is recognised as a world culture heritage site by UNESCO.
- Hoi An tours don’t take much time. So after having fun in Da Nang, tourists can definitely take their time to come to Hoi An as well.
